Keedy Sans by Jeffery Keedy
PACKAGING CONCEPT
"Like many graphic designers of the late 1980s and early 1990s, Jeffery Keedy was eager to embrace the computer as a tool, but was frustrated by the limited selection of digital typefaces available. Keedy Sans, created in response, was used in layouts for Emigre magazine and embraced by designers everywhere."
The way Jeffery Keedy took such contradicting shapes and merged them to create this unique, bold, and powerful typeface was an inspiration for me. The way the letters connect together to create such interesting and complex shapes led to my exploration and creation of the patterns below. When designing this concept packaging and brochure for the typeface I wanted to play with Jeffery's controlled chaos and create something that would be equally statement-making.
